Jeffrey Nishinaka and Jackie Chan

The 52-year-old sculptor has been refining his paper craft since 1982 and has produced works based on classic Disney movies — and even iconic action man Jackie Chan.

Taking anywhere from three days to four months to produce, Jeffrey's intricately detailed pieces range from 8in-by-8in to 20ft tall and 20ft wide.

Jeffrey, who lives in Los Angeles, said: "I was looking for a way to be different. While an art student, two of my classes gave assignments to experiment with paper.

"So quite by accident, I fell into it. The first chance to work with paper was an 'ah-ha!' moment for me.

"I felt comfortable working with it from the very beginning. From there I began experimenting a lot with different papers and ways of manipulating it."

His previous pieces have included the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge and an enormous tree complete with grass, birds and fish.

He is currently working on a series of sculptures for Novae insurance company in London.
